Sora was thrilled to present and exhibit at XYPN Live this year. Our co-founders Rohit and Siddhartha had the opportunity to present at the AdvisorTech expo and meet with hundreds of advisors. We left energized, and excited that advisors value and are eager to use our debt optimization tool. Here are a few takeaways from the conference based on our advisor interactions:
Holistic planning: With the market downturn, increasing client expectations and downward fee pressure, advisors were clear that the need to deliver additional value beyond asset management. Examples that came up include: estate planning, tax strategies, and debt planning. Within debt planning, client’s student loans were consistently top of mind for advisors.
Analytics: Advisors consistently want to run personalized scenarios for their clients. This has become more top of mind given the emergence of a bear market. Analytics for scenario planning include early mortgage payoff, expected investment rate of returns, cash yields, and tax strategies for realized losses. We are seeing analytics play the largest role when trying to convey long-term strategy.
New client acquisition: Advisors were consistently discussing ways that they can add more clients; in particular they were focused on younger, less affluent clients given their fee-only model.
